Are you sick of Facebook and Instagram? Are you tired of the politics and fighting and disrespect. Do you seriously wonder if there is a legitimate news source left in the United States? You, my friend are not alone. These are difficult times for our society and we are bombarded with more "news" and points of view in a single day than many people were in a lifetime generations before us. All of this information is not necessarily a bad thing, it's great to be informed, however it is a problem when it starts to wear on our mental health when it causes conflict and arguments in our lives.
I challenge each of you to scroll through your social media and silence for a period of time the people on your pages that cause negative reactions in you, or who have posts just filled with glum and doom. These are not the voices you need resounding in your head. Do a little spring cleaning on your social media, a little weeding if you will. I'm not saying be a uninformed ostrich but I am saying be in the know but don't waller in it.
Instead follow someone positive. Or try out one of these suggestions:
-The Kindness Challenge group on Facebook, its super uplifting, people just share the
kindness they observe in the world around them.
-Join a Splash page. If you don't know what a splash page is let me tell you it is truly
amazing! People create Amazon wish lists, share them in the group, post positive thoughts
for one another and then surprise group members they may or may not know with
"splashes" from their wish lists. It's so uplifting and fun!
-If you are a woman in the business world or one just looking to be surrounded by success
join Gloria Mayfield Banks' The Power Huddle group.
Seek out and find positive people and groups to follow. It's amazing what that can do for your news feed and overall outlook. I have lot of other ideas on who/what you could follow, comment below and I'll check in with you. Please feel free also to share your ideas below. We all could use a little more to smile about in our everyday lives.
Final thought... Go and check yourself in your own social media accounts. Are you bringing positivity and joy to other's lives or are you a part of the problem?
If you enjoyed this please feel free to share. 😊
